Blackout [HD]

Good story. Slow build to the payoff. Nice twist.
An entirely adequate thriller/mystery. Up-and-coming lawyer, Harley Roberts, wakes up from a bender with a dead girl in his apartment. In a panic he hides the body. Then it happens again. Paranoia sets in. Did he blackout and kill these girls? Harley lays a trap to find out what is going on.

The one drawback to the film is the sound quality and in many cases the incidental music overpowers the dialogue. And, the build up is long, but there is a payoff - an entirely satisfactory payoff that you won't expect. Minor technical issues, which don't detract much, aside, Blackout is a solid thriller/mystery. I am ambivalent about how sympathetic I was to how Harley deals with the situation. You don't want him to get caught, because like him, you want to know how the girls end up in his apartment.

Robert Covington as Harley's BFF Alfred and Bill Oberst Jr. as Rommel Stanton the creepy maintenance man both put in notably solid performances.

The film has...

i like independent, low budget films with budding actors, however...
this film was not good. i don't mind movies that aren't hollywood blockbusters and prefer the lesser known writers, directors and actors. this movie sounded awesome and the general concept and story are good. the execution of the filming and acting are really bad. the main character seriously needs to hang it up. dude, acting isn't your thing. his best friend was a little better, but not much. the fiance is very pretty but also leaves a bit to be desired in the acting department. like, seriously i can act better than these people, and i'm a software developer.

anyway, this is a $1 rental, not a $4 rental. if they spent more than $4 to make this movie it was entirely way too much. what a bummer.

Blackout
Bad acting, Plot dumb. Story stupid. The hero didn't seem surprised to find a body in his shower or bed. Call me crazy, but I think the average person would have freaked out when finding a dead body in their shower. Not get dressed and go hang out with friends, And if I found another body in my bed a while afterI guess I would be Mr. Cool and chop it up or NOT.
